On the Drawing Board

STARRY NIGHTS on Fish Point!  Amateur astronomers take note.  Thanks to the donation of an excellent Celestron telescope, we can invite others to join us inside the "bowl of stars" that surrounds us on clear summer and fall nights.  We're lucky to have almost no light pollution.   BYOT or use ours!   Ask about dates, or RSVP.

PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP INTENSIVES with award-winning photographer/photojournalist Johanna S. Billings.  Either come "from Away" and stay in residence at SCAI's Center, or participate as a day student if you're local.   These workshops will have their maiden voyage in 2020, dates TBA, with plans to expand the program in future years.  Check our Calendar of Events for updates, or join our Mailing List.

A READER'S THEATER GROUP, reading classic and contemporary plays, and eventually also serving as a development vehicle for new plays in progress.  Expected to start in winter 2020, as an antidote to cabin fever.

A VISION is held for a professional 6-voice a cappella vocal group to perform an excitingly broad repertoire: from madrigals and classical music to jazz, pop/rock and original material. You must read music well and have excellent pitch. We'll perform throughout the region. Contact us if you're interested.

TEACHING RESIDENCIES by SCAI staff, and visiting artists and directors in music, theater, writing, visual arts, to share their knowledge and experience: these will be an ongoing feature.  Watch for details or join our mailing list!

MILBRIDGE YOUTH SUMMER THEATER COMPANY  (MYSTCo):   A condensed 1-to-2-week program with guest directors, culminating in a weekend of performances.

SCAI would like to compile a comprehensive LIST of all artists in Washington County: musicians, actors, dancers, visual artists, writers, and multi-media artists. If you want to be included, send us your contact information and we'll be in touch. Listing will be free as a public service to fellow artists. If you don't already have a web presence, and would like to create something simple and affordable, we also can help with that through our site, or recommend a great colleague!
